Is a big defenseman who is extremely solid in his own zone, though not one who is especially physical when you consider his size. He does not produce elite point totals but is a great partner for someone who can. He is at his best when he plays a simple game, moves the puck out of danger and focuses on keeping the puck out of his own net. Can play in any game situation.
